When it comes to hair, heat is most certainly not its best friend! Blowdrying, styling and straightening will sadly take its toll on even the most resilient of manes so I am forever on the hunt for products and tools that will help me style my hair straight without compromising on the condition and health of my hair in the process.
I have very thick, curly hair which is fantastic 99% of the time when I want to wear it big and wild and let it dry naturally (which is usually the only option once I step out the shower and have a baby to feed and a toddler to dress!) But there are times, usually at the weekend when I want to feel a bit swankier, when I want to straighten or style my hair and slather on every hair product going to give it some swish and sheen. Taking my curly mop to a sleek do involves a lot of effort, a lot of patience and a lot of heat which is why I try and limit the use of heated tools as much as possible for fear my hair will eventually throw in the towel and admit defeat!
So when the newest range from Paul Mitchell was brought to my attention I was very excited to hear there might be something out there to help ease the effects of heat damage on my hair and mean I can be a bit more liberal with my hair straighteners going forward.
Neuro Liquid offers us a range of intelligent haircare products and tools that have been formulated with exclusive HeatCTRL technology (fancy!) which is proven to protect against damage caused by daily styling, blow-drying and smoothing. It prevents thermal damage up to 86% and adds up to 4.5 times more condition to your locks whilst blocking humidity for up to 8 hours. The range is vegan-friendly and colour-safe too and has a rather lovely, floriental fragrance.
Protecting your hair and taking control back starts from the minute you step into the shower with their HeatCTRL shampoo, conditioner and treatment, which is a great repairing mask for your fragile locks. I love to use this once a week to keep my hair feeling restored and protected. Once out the shower it is time to think about styling but before whacking on the hairdryer you need to reach for the HeatCTRL Blowout Primer – a product that preps the hair for blow-drying and reduces the rate of heat transfer so you are left with a glossy finish. There is also a volume foam you can apply if you need a little more lift and fullness whilst blow-drying…although I don’t think I need that one so much! Finally the HeatCTRL Iron Hairspray is a must before you heat up those hair straighteners as it delivers advanced thermal protection, blocks out frizz and gives your locks a nice shine and hold.
To compliment these products, there is also an extensive range of Neuro intelligent styling tools such as a touch-activated hair dryer which makes blow-drying your hair a dream (turns on when you pick it up, turns off when you put it down!) and the Neuro Style hair straighteners which gave me such a glossy, smooth finish without having to crank up the heat setting too high.
The Neuro Liquid hair range from Paul Mitchell is available now from selected salons.
