Jo Malone London The English Oak: The Perfect Scent for Autumn

So I might be peaking too soon but what with this nippy weather drawing in, I am so ready for Autumn. You know the deal – cosy nights, log fires, oversized jumpers, crisp walks, knitted blankets and copious quantities of hot beverages in chunky mugs. Just like your wardrobe evolves and your makeup shifts as the seasons change, so does your fragrance. Yes, it is time to kiss goodbye to those light, floral, zesty scents and say hello to your Autumnal cologne, and I have already earmarked my spritz of choice for this coming season thanks to Jo Malone London’s new The English Oak collection.

Comprising of two new scents, English Oak & Redcurrant and English Oak & Hazelnut, there is a selection of new beauty, bath and home bits to give you a gorgeous woody and powerful aroma. But most exciting for me is the launch of their two colognes and I have been really enjoying the enchanting English Oak & Redcurrant Cologne with its full-bodied, juicy and warm scent. It is roaring fires, burning candles and leafy strolls all rolled into one! It is great to see this collection celebrating such an iconic sight in the English countryside and the oak element really adds a majestic and mysterious quality to these fragrances that I haven’t really encountered before. Along with the woody oak you can expect to find a redcurrant top note and rose at the heart of this scent which slightly lifts and lightens the earthy tone but still keeps it feeling wonderfully Autumnal. The perfect warming companion on a chilly day this season!

The Redcurrant combination is nice but I much prefer the Hazelnut one, it’s smells so special and feminine.
