Clarins Everlasting Foundation has been one of those foundations I have dipped in and out of over the past few years and is a failsafe option for when I want a reliable base that provides me with a medium coverage, a great lasting power and a fairly matte finish.
The Everlasting Foundation, in liquid form, has been such a popular choice that the brand have introduced two new, adaptable long-wearing textures – a cushion technology and a compact powder, depending on what kind of formula suits your needs. Each foundation is enriched with plant extracts to enhance, protect and nourish your skin and are presented in two stylish, on-the-go compacts.
Firstly the Everlasting Cushion Foundation offers us a whopping SPF50 and is a fluid formula housed in a cushion that is easily applied with the sponge pad included. It is a light, breathable, moisturising foundation that still manages to cover well and adds a glowy radiance to your complexion. It is a perfect base if you tend to suffer from dry, lacklustre skin during the colder months as it instantly gives the skin a boost of moisture thanks to the organic quinoa extract, and leaves it looking plump and healthy. I find it best to apply this foundation by patting it lightly over your face and then going in again, once dried, if you require a bit more coverage. It also contains anti-pollution protection to help keep your skin safe from daily aggressors. The packaging is mighty pretty – a white compact with a gold trim, something a little bit different for Clarins.
The second new foundation from Clarins is the Everlasting Compact Foundation SPF9 which is a powder formula that is perfect for on the go. The sleek gold compact unfurls to reveal the powder with a cushioned sponge applicator. This foundation is all about a flawless, matte foundation that minimises imperfections and blurs the skin. Just like the original Everlasting Liquid Foundation, this compact combines bamboo powder and silicones to help control shine and deliver a day-long matte coverage. Even though I am not really a fan of powder-based foundations, this one feels light and silky on the skin and not at all drying. It fact my skin feels really soft when I wear this and the coverage is great, but with a very matte finish. It also contains triple protection – anti-pollution, anti-free radical and SPF9 to help preserve your skin throughout the day. I really like the idea of this foundation but I did find it a little too matte for my liking (and I like a matte foundation!) but what I have been doing is applying my normal foundation first and then using this on the areas that I tend to get oily or shiny throughout the day. So my t-zone stays wonderfully matte and shine-free but I can still keep the rest of my complexion looking fresh and natural.
Both this foundations are available in six shades and will launch on 24th September 2017 online and on counters nationwide.
