Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Treatment

Lip balms, lip salves, lip treatments. I think I have more of these than lipsticks and lip glosses put together and there is always at least three lurking in the bottom of my handbag and amongst my everyday makeup essentials.

I love a good lip balm. After I’ve applied my base makeup, before I go in with concealer, I always slap on some lip salve to keep my lip moisturised and prepped for my choice of lipstick that day. This month, Kiehl’s have introduced their new Butterstick Lip Treatment – a multi benefit lip treatment collection available in both clear and sheer hues, ideal to hydrate and protect lips with a SPF25. These new products are not your average lip balms – a lovely weighty lip balm with a screw top which reveals a rich lip treatment in either a clear or tinted formula. The texture is creamy and decadent thanks to the combination of buyers and oils, including lemon butter and coconut oil, but the feel on the lips is still lightweight and is easily absorbed. I love the fact you’ve got two clear ones to choose from (with SPF25 and without) and then three beautifully tinted options to hydrate and add a pop of colour. Naturally Nude is my favourite…naturally, but there is also Simply Rose and Touch of Berry if you want something a little more obvious, but obviously a lot more toned down than a lipstick.

I love using these and they have quickly become part of my daily beauty ritual, and find myself applying them as regularly as I do hand cream (and that’s quite a lot!). They feel lovely and nourishing on the lips and are great worn alone or used to prep the lips for something more heavy duty like a matte lipstick as they easily banish any dryness or flaky bits!

In the warmer months I love lip products that are fuss free and add just a wash of colour & these new Kiehls Buttersticks sound ideal – you get all the protection and nourishment of a lipbalm and a nice pop of colour. I am digging the retro feel packaging too. I need to treat myself to a couple of shades
