The original Flowerbomb fragrance from Viktor & Rolf is a really striking scent and was a bit of a love/hate perfume when it was first released back in 2005. It is robust, powerful and innovative in its olfactory experience. It has become a recognisable, cult scent that some people adore, and others are left unsure. I personally really liked the original but probably wouldn’t want to wear it everyday and it was a bit too heady and luxurious for a Spring/Summer scent. Which is why their latest addition to the Flowerbomb fragrance family couldn’t have come at a better time.
Flowerbomb Bloom is described as the sister scent to Flowerbomb, and whilst is still closely connected with the original, offers us a much lighter, fresh and airy scent. It is the epitome of Spring – blooming bouquets of fresh flowers, invigorating clean air, sparkling, sensuous and juicy. It is the perfect mix of fruity and floral. So if you liked Flowerbomb but crave something a little less intense, I reckon you will fall for Flowerbomb Bloom.
Some of my favourite scents are present in this perfume – pomegranate, bergamot and mandarin. This fruitiness is softened by a silky base of musk, vanilla and patchouli. Perhaps the most notable and interesting aspect of this Eau de Toilette is the fresh infusion of a pure air molecule – a synthetic recreation of a molecule captured at the top of the mountain ranges of the Pacific Northwest. So this new fragrance really is a breath of fresh air! This addition adds a liveliness and aerial quality that elevates and beautifully lightens the overall scent. I feel you could spritz and spritz this perfume and not feel weighed down by its scent but in fact it gives you a certain bounce and spring in your step as you step out into Spring!
