One of Lancome’s much-loved and best-selling foundation has had a makeover. A new name and a fresh look! Teint Idole Ultra 24h has graced Lancome’s beauty counters for 20 years now so in celebration of its longevity, the brand have revamped its name – welcome Teint Idole Ultra Wear, and also given it a new, chicer bottle.
Even more exciting is the fact that this formula is now available in 40 shades. Yep, Lancome have rolled out its high coverage foundation to (hopefully) answer every woman’s needs and offer the perfect match for your complexion. I think this is great and so refreshing to see more brands extending their base product collections to cater for all skin tones. I know this is a really popular foundation and hopefully if you struggled to find your ideal shade the first time around, you will now be able to find your perfect match!
I remember testing out this foundation years ago and really liking the coverage and finish it gave so I was keen to try it out again to see if that original love was still there. Oh and it was! This kind of foundation is right up my street – medium to full coverage, a silky liquid formula that buffs in beautifully. It feels light on the skin, not too cakey and leaves you with a velvet, semi-matte finish with a slight glow. Not too matte but a far cry from a dewy finish, if that’s what you are after. I personally love this type of finish as I can then add highlight and dewiness with cream products over the top. It does give a flawless, very even canvas and masks all redness and I didn’t even feel the need to go in with a concealer afterwards. I love applying my foundations with a brush and the Lancome Foundation Brush is the perfect partner to this product as it is small and dense so you can really work the product into the skin in small areas, creating a really lovely finish. But any brush or sponge would do this foundation justice I’m sure, just work quite quickly as it does dry down quite fast.
All in all, a great full coverage, matte yet glow-giving foundation with ample shades to choose from. Lancome still claim it is 24hours wear but I can’t say I have tested this out yet. I am in my PJs, make up off and hair in a top knot by 7pm but if you do end up wearing it and partying into the wee hours, do let me know how you get on!
