Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation

What I am about to say might come as a bit of a shock to you but I haven’t always had the best experience with Giorgio Armani foundations and Luminous Silk, which I know is adored by the masses, really wasn’t my cup of tea. Therefore I was excited when the newly launched Power Fabric foundation from Giorgio Armani arrived. I was keen to dispel my previous niggles over the GA foundation range and hoped to find a new base product that I loved.

Bingo! The brand new Power Fabric is just my kind of thing and has everything I love in a foundation. It is a matte foundation and funnily enough every time I write Power Fabric, I end up putting Powder Fabric, as it is a little bit powdery. But in a nice way. I just mean it settles really nicely on the skin with a velvety finish and very little luminosity. I personally like to add my highlight, radiance and dewiness with other products on top on my foundation so this is perfect for me as it gives me such a flawless, even base. The coverage is full and you really do only need a little bit – best to start with a pump or two and then build it up if you fancy. Unlike some matte, full coverage foundations, the Power Fabric gives you enough time to buff in your product before it dries and sets. And once this foundation is on, it will not budge and it lasted so well on my skin from morning to night without the need for any touch ups. It would work brilliantly on oily skin but dry skin may need so preparation before using this foundation as it could cling to dry patches. It also contains SPF25 which is great as we approach Spring and are going to be spending more time outside in the sunshine.

Despite the fact Power Fabric is full coverage, matte and long-wearing, it does feel incredibly comfortable on the skin. It feels light and fresh and not at all heavy. It comes in 15 shades to suit most skin tones but it does oxidise slightly so I would definitely suggest getting colour matched and opting for a shade slightly lighter as it does darken once dried on your skin.

At £40 a bottle, it certainly isn’t the most budget-friendly foundation in my collection but I honestly have loved wearing this recently and does make my skin look lovely (if I do say so myself!). It is a real luxury but a splurge for your skin once in a while is ok in my books!

I have heard such good things about this foundation, for £40 I probably wouldn’t wear it everyday, but for special events I am sure it would be lovely!

Ooh exciting, I love a new foundation, especially one that is targeted at my skin type. I haven’t worn the Luminous Silk since I was at uni (HOW I afforded it I don’t know – student loan?!), so am keen to try something new soon. Foundation is my weakness!

I am thinking about getting this or the Luminous silk. It looks amazing from what I have read!
