Clarins Skin Illusion Blush & Daily Energizer Lovely Lip Balm

This month, we will see the release of the Tender Moments Collection from Clarins which is a launch that contains a little bit of skincare and a little bit of makeup, so a perfect treat for Mothers Day with its limited edition, sweet hearts and kisses packaging.

Clarins have extended their skin illusion range to incorporate a brand new product that gives us a new twist on how we apply our blush. The Skin Illusion Blushes have a powder puff applicator that sits in the blush powder in the base so when you twist it shut it picks up some of the blusher ready for your next use. The sponge can then be dabbed or swiped onto your cheeks to transfer the colour. There are three shades in this limited edition collection  -01. Luminous Pink. 02. Luminous Coral 03. Golden Havana. The finish feels quite matte but with a slight radiance once blended out. And that’s the thing, you definitely do need to blend these out. I was worried they would be too ‘stripey’ if unblended and I was right. You are either left with pink war paint or circular imprints on your face if you don’t help blend the blush with your finger or a brush. Luckily the top of the blush pot doubles up as a handy mirror if you are using these on the go. It is also worth noting that these are really well pigmented, more so than I first imagined, so you need to apply these delicately and then build the colour up if need be. The colours are really lovely and the peachy shade is just perfect for Spring.

The other item from this collection is the Daily Energizer Lovely Lip Balm which is a really great skincare item to have. It contains lots of lovely oils to protect and repair the lips, as well as a clever little pigment that reacts to your lips pH to bring out their natural colour. So you are left with a bespoke rosy pout! I’ve used this before and loved it so am happy to have it restocked in my collection as I am forever applying lip balm. It also has the peachiest scent and the sweetest packaging that will ensure it won’t get lost at the bottom of your makeup bag!

Beautiful pictures, Milly! The blushes themselves sound nice, but that packaging and the pH lip balm just scream ‘Mizz Magazine freebie’ to me. Perhaps they will introduce a younger crowd to the Clarins brand though!
