The Estée Edit Collection from Estée Lauder

At first glance, this new collection is a far cry from the luxurious-looking, gold laden packaging of Estée Lauder’s most recognisable products. In fact, you would be forgiven for not realising that this is actually The Estée Edit by Estée Lauder, the new makeup range that has had the beauty industry excitedly awaiting its arrival. Think Estée Lauder’s younger, edgier sister! This new collection has a colossal 82 pieces, mostly makeup with a smidgen of skincare thrown in there too. Fronted by Kendall Jenner and beauty influencer Irene Kim, this youthful-looking range, from the Estée Lauder powerhouse, is aimed at a younger generation of beauty junkies with a more purse-friendly price tag and less decadent packaging. It is tailored for a social media generation with its mix of new revolutionary beauty products, intelligent formulas and clever inventions. As you can imagine it is quite an overwhelming collection with 82 new products but I have a little selection from the range to share with you on here to help shed some light on why this might be the most exciting launch of 2016 so far.

Lipsticks first and there are two separate formulas – the Barest Lip Color and Mattified Lipstick. The Barest Lip Colors are very Kendall-esque and feature a selection of wearable nudes with a gorgeous creamy, light, hydrating texture. The Mattified Lipsticks are brighter, bolder, more intense with a matte-like finish. They still feel incredibly comfortable and smooth on the lips though.

For the eyes we have The Edit Eyeshadow Palette, inspired by Kendall and Irene themselves, and focusses on girl-on-the-go sensibility and seamless makeup application. A mixture of light and dark shades are combined with a selection of neutrals and pops of purple to give this palette the versatility to take you from day to night. It is wearable yet fun and the shadows themselves have a lovely consistency and brilliant colour payoff.

A selection of powder compacts for your complexion feature in this new range. The Flash Photo Powder is a translucent, sheer powder created with blue light-reflecting pigments for a luminous complexion in any light. Perfect for those selfies! There is also the Barest Blush in four different shades which gives you a natural flush of colour with a subtle shimmer to highlight and define your cheeks.

The Flash Illuminator is your number one pick for gorgeous glowy skin. This balm, rich with the moisture magnet ingredient Hyaluronic Acid, glides beautifully onto the skin to help add luminosity and a healthy glow. It isn’t sticky at all which means it can either be worn alone or mixed in with your foundation for a more sheer yet glowing coverage.

The Edgiest Kohl Shadowsticks come in an array of shades and is the ultimate shadow and liner, all in one. It is precise enough to be used as a liner or buildable enough to give you an all over colour on your lids. It has a smooth, intense texture and finish and lasts a good length of time without creasing or smudging. It is a great multi-tasking product to pop in your makeup bag. Speaking of eyeliners we also have the Blackest Liner which has a felt-tip like nip for a dramatic, even and precise line or flick. It is extremely pigmented and delivers a jet black, matte finish that wont smudge or fade during the day. It is one of the easiest liners I’ve used for a while to perfect that cat-eye look!

Finally, bang on trend, we have the Barest Contour Lip Liners, available in six neutral shades. I love a lip liner and these new editions are great! The automatic pencil has a twist up tip that offers a precise, fine tip and soft, smooth texture. The liner glides on beautifully without pulling at the skin and can be used to line your lips or all over as a base or individual lip colour. The formula prevents your lipstick from feathering or bleeding and they can also be used to help create the hot trend of ombre lips.

The Estée Edit by Estée Lauder is out now and is exclusively available from Selfridges.

It looks pretty cool, but none of it is nice enough to make me want to splash out on it 🙁

I can't say I'm drawn to this, I don't know if it's the packaging or what?! But a couple of the products sound quite tempting so I might have to treat myself and give them a whirl x

The Estee Edit is really appealing! But, I wish they had lower prices. It just seems to expensive for the younger generation and would prefer to buy from Estee Lauder at the same price! The products do look amazing, however!

I saw this range in Sephora in NYC on a recent trip and couldn't believe it was Estee Lauder, the packaging and the vibe is so different but understandable that they are trying to appeal to a younger audience! x
