It’s that time of year again when the beauty brands go all sparkly and festive and release a plethora of eyeshadow palettes to delight and enchant our eyes during the Christmas season. I love a good Christmas eyeshadow palette and couldn’t have been more excited when I heard that Clarins were releasing another limited edition palette for the second year in a row.

The Essentials Eye Make Up Palette* (£35) is available online and is the perfect, lightweight addition to your makeup to take you from desk to dance floor in a instant with a flurry of sparkly and shimmering shadows. There are ten wearable eye shadows in a harmonious collection of colours from sultry greys, mocha browns, pearly whites and that gorgeous gold shade! There is a variety of finishes from matte, satin and pearl so this palette is incredibly versatile and can be used day or night for a selection of different subtle and party time looks. Theses mineral powder shadows can be used wet or dry to vary the intensity and all have a silky-smooth, long-lasting formula which is easily blended out for a pretty, defined finish. For the look above I took the second shade in from the left all over my lid and then blended the taupe-brown shade, second from right, through my crease. To finish I pressed the gold glitter shade onto my lids with my fingertips which is the best method to achieve minimal fallout and a super-sparkly finish. I also ran a little bit of the gold through my lower lash line with the handy little brush applicator included in the palette. For my lips I whipped out one of my favourite lip colours of the moment – Bourjois’s Rouge Edition Velvet in Pink Pong. The perfect lip to pair with my golden eyes.

Do you like the look of this limited edition Clarins palette?

Although I do like this palette, there are so many nude palettes that it's nothing new. I'm sure all of us already have something like this.

I hope to find this palette in Canada. The Clarins makeup collection this fall is just so beautifull, chic and easy to wear. Guess who's coveting an eye palette now?!
