You can tell we are edging our way ever closer to the festive season as the makeup brands start releasing a whole host of shimmery and glitter-infused products to get us ready for the party season. Bobbi Brown are no exception and have launched their new Long Wear Gel Sparkle which gives us a modern, sparkly twist on their iconic Long Wear Gel Eyeliner which is a little pot of magic that I know is adored by many, many beauty fans. These five new pots of metallic gel are the perfect two-in-one liner and shadow hybrid which instantly adds high-impact and glamour to you eyes, whether you chose to line and define or smudge and smoke for a chic, sexy look.

Bobbi Brown’s new Long Wear Gel Sparkle* (£20) are such fun, versatile products to use and make such a unique, gorgeous alternative to the traditional glitter-laden Christmas eyeshadow palette that most brands opt to bring out around this time of year. Each pot contains an intense blend of pearl-infused pigment which gives you a vibrant yet buildable shade for your eyes with a kaleidoscope-like finish of shimmery shadow. The beauty of these Gel Sparkle Liner and Shadows is that you can use them all over your eyelids by using a small shadow brush like the Bobbi Brown Cream Smudge-Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush and stroking and layering the colour onto your lids for the desired effect. Alternatively, for a sheerer finish, you can use your fingertips to blend in which is what I opted for above. The other option is to use the finer end of the retractable brush and line your eyes top or bottom for an intense hint of colour and shimmer. The formula is extremely smooth and easy to work with but it does dry quite quickly once applied so you do need to work swiftly. Once in place these gel sparkles really don’t budge and last well without budging or creasing during the day. What I love most about this new Gel Sparkle Liner and Shadow pots is that they don’t have to be perfectly applied and honestly look best when smudge and smoked onto the eyelid with a slightly care-free manner!

The five shades are, from left to right, 01. Night Sky, 02. Thunderstorm 04. Sunlit Bronze 05. Smokey Topaz 06. Midnight Forest. I used Sunlit Bronze all over my lids and then lined the bottom lashes with a mixture of Smokey Topaz and Midnight Forest which is such a gorgeous, emerald green, I think it could be my favourite! All these Gel Sparkles are available from the Bobbi Brown website as well as exclusively from House of Fraser. Do you think these will make it onto your Christmas list this Winter?

I'm not normally a fan of shimmers, but I should of guessed Bobbi Brown would do it the classy way!
