Clarins Limited Edition Splendours Eye Palette* £31
I have been meaning to gush about this eye palette from Clarins ever since the Summer Splendours collection came out in April but I couldn’t find the words to describe just how lovely it is. The collection’s inspirational aztec designs and South American influences are embossed on the individual eyeshadows which are all so easy to wear and compliment each other perfectly. There is a rich gold, a pearly white, a maroon-bronze and a pink rose-gold shadow accompanied by a waxy, creamy eyeliner with a deep plum tint to it. All the shadows are incredibly silky to apply and blend nicely together whether you are after a subtle wash of colour or a more defined, intense finish.
Above I used the pearly-white shade to highlight along my brow bone and in the corner of my eye and then buffed the pinky-gold shadow all over my eye lid. To add some definition, I completed the look by blending the gold into my outer corner and then added the maroon shade over the top to darken the edges. I wouldn’t say these shadows are super pigmented but are very easily buildable if you wanted a heavier look. But for me, the subtle bronze-shadow-lover that I am, this palette is perfect as it contains all my favourite eyeshadow shades along with the eyeliner which is so smooth to use and has a gorgeous, dark purple tone to it. As a palette to take out and about with you or away for a week’s holiday, the Clarins Splendours Quartet palette is pretty much ideal and it is just a shame that it is limited edition. So if you are a bronzey-gold shadow lover like me, then you had better get your hands on this quick!
