Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact* £30
launches in April 2013
It seems that with every twist of a lipstick and flip of an eyeshadow palette, Clarins have this remarkable ability to pick you up and transport you off to some distant, exotic landscape. Last year it was a celebration of the decadent hues and enchanted detail of India’s Festival of Colour and this year we journey to South America to embrace the Mayan symbols, Aztec prints, earthy shades and glittering treasures of the Ancient Ruins.
The Summer Bronzing Compact is certainly a thing of beauty. It is a generous disc of three complimentary powders embossed with intricate Mayan script and crowned with a golden, highlighting centre. It is a wonderful multi-purpose product that swiftly contours, bronzes and highlights in three easy steps. The colour is a rich, flattering combination of browns and terracotta which adds instant warmth and colour to your face. The powder is soft and finely milled so sweeps beautifully onto your cheeks and gives you that sunkissed glow without being too heavy. Being a sucker for highlighters and glimmering cheeks, my favourite aspect of this compact is the golden gem nestled in the centre that adds a dusting of sparkle and iridescence to an otherwise fairly matte powder. I think this bronzing compact is such a unique, gorgeous looking bronzer that delivers a warm flush and glint of gold to your cheeks, it will definitely be a firm favourite of mine during the summer months. There is also an equally stunning eyeshadow palette from the Splendours collection that I will undoubtedly be gushing over in the next few days, so stay tuned for that!
