NUDE skincare

NUDE skincare
available from John Lewis

I remember when I was in my teens, natural skincare…or really just any skincare come to that, was the last thing on my mind. Because I have never suffered from particularly bad/dry/troublesome skin, I use to just get by with whatever I could find on my bedside table. Fast forward many years, and I have now developed an invested interest in skincare. I have become more particular than ever to ensure that my skincare isn’t packed full of junk and cheap ingredients, and although I will never be as knowledgeable as my skincare goddess/guru, the beauty oracle Caroline, I am slowly learning what is good for my skin. After all, as NUDE state themselves, “70% of what you put on your skin is absorbed into the bloodstream.” I now avidly seek out and purchase organic, natural products to use on my skin and have built up quite a repertoire of ethical skincare, from Liz Earle, Oskia, Monu, REN and now NUDE, to name but a few!

NUDE’s packaging and branding has recently been re-vamped and I really love the clean, bathroom-cabinet-pleasing look of their products, with the oils and serums being housed in a sleek, purple glass bottle (recyclable glass of course!) with their own pipette dispenser. The Perfect Cleansing Oil* was the first product I tried out, promises to deeply cleanse the skin removing all impurities and the toughest of waterproof mascara. Initially I loved the fragrance of this cleanser and was impressed that it didn’t leave my skin or hands feeling overly greasy, like some cleansers can. When I massaged the cleanser into my face with warm water, the clear liquid transformed into a rich milk which melted my makeup away and left my face feeling fresh and clean, not dry or stripped at all. I did feel it struggled a little bit with some heavier makeup and occasionally it did require a helping hand from my trusty Bioderma to help remove the last of my stubborn eyeliner, but a all-round good cleanser that would be particularly good for sensitive skin.

The Cellular Renewal Serum* and the ProGenius Treatment Oil* from NUDE have both long surpassed the test-for-review period and become staples in my skincare routine as of late. The cellular renewal serum is simple in both scent and appearance, and is aimed at plumping and smoothing skin, the natural way. It is very gentle on the skin and doesn’t feel greasy or pore-clogging at all. I tend to use it at night after I have cleansed and before I have moisturised, and it feels absolutely lovely on the skin. It automatically makes skin appear dewy and fresh, and soft to the touch. A few drops go a long way, so even though it has a rather scary price tag (£64 for 30ml), I feel this will last me for months and months. However I think the ProGenius Treatment Oil is the real star in this lineup from NUDE, set to brighten and renew the skin. Created from ten precious oils, with a consistency that absorbs beautifully into the skin, it is decadent in appearance and feeds the skin with vital nutrients to nourish the cells from inside out. I love that this is such a multi-purpose product and can be used in the morning before makeup, at night for an overnight facial or blended with your foundation or moisturiser for extra dewiness and radiance. I really love using this product – it feels like such a treat for the skin and it is perfect to use during these miserable cold spells as it keeps your skin from looking dull and a bit blah! This is the one product I would definitely miss now from my skincare routine and when that sad day comes when I reach the bottom of the bottle, I will for sure be stocking up again!

Have you tried anything from the NUDE range? What are your skincare saviours?
