A super eye illuminating kit…

Benefit Cosmetics has released some cracking makeup palettes recently (see here and here) and their latest offering, the peek-a-bright eyes illuminating kit, is another absolute winner. In my eyes! The great thing about the Benefit makeup kits, or any makeup palette for that matter, is the convenience of having all the products you want in one place, at your fingertips. Bright, perky eyes are paramount for a fresh-faced look and I believe you can achieve wide-eyed wonderment all with a sweep, a dab and a blend from this kit. In the peek-a-bright eyes palette you will find a buff base eyeshadow, a warm chocolate contour shadow, a pearly-pink powder highlighter and eye bright instant eye brightener, along with a contour/liner and concealer brush.

The buff shadow is perfect to be used all over the lid as your base colour to give your eyelids an even, soft tone, followed by the chocolate brown shade to give your eyes a warm, subtle contour. Blend the shadow into your crease and outwards to give your eyes a lifted effect. You can then line your top and bottom lash lines with the contour colour to gives your eyes a bit more definition. The pearly-pink shadow is a beautiful highlighting shade and works wonders when placed in the centre of the eyelids or run just under the brow bone. The crowning glory of this kit, the real gem in achieving wide-awake peepers is the eye bright instant brightener. It is creamy and illuminating and best applied with the concealer brush to the inner and outer corners, instantly absorbing any dark shadows or contours around your eyes. This new kit is so perfect for travelling and quick makeup-on-the-go, and will surely leave your eyes as bright and dazzling as the packaging itself!

Are you a fan of Benefit Cosmetics’ makeup kits? What are your favourite products for faking that wide-awake look?

I like how it has a little lid over the highlighter to stop any powder getting stuck in it. I think that's really thoughtful and good product design x

This kit is right up my street! I usually just use a pearly white eye-shadow to highlight my eyes for the wide awake look but it would be nice to have something a bit more specialised.

It's strange I never really focus on making my eyes look more awake – I should probably start considering it as I'm almost out of my teenage years!

I'm currently running a giveaway where you could win a MAC lipstick of your choice. Please check out my blog if you're interested. 🙂

I LOVE Benefit, especially Eye Bright. I wish you could buy it seperately in a little pot though, rather than a pencil…

    Great post 🙂
