TRESemme Keratin Smooth range* including shampoo, conditioner, heat protection shine spray and hair masque
around £4.99 per product – available from Tescos/Sainsburys

TRESemme is like a Honda of the hair world, not particularly swanky or extravagant but incredibly reliable. And completely dependable. When you have finished test-driving the flashier models, it will be the Honda you drive home in with its steadfast performance and consistent results. I turned to TRESemme’s Colour Protection range when I was fighting the fade and trying to maintain my ruby-red locks, and honestly it was my secret weapon in keeping my fiery mane burning brightly.

The new Keratin Smooth collection from TRESemme is a god-send for anyone who suffers with frizzy, unruly and downright uncontrollable hair, much like I do! The products are infused with Keratin which nourishes and replenishes each strand giving your hair an incredible smoothness and sleek finish. I rarely wear my hair straight but I just had to put this range to the test and see whether the claims were true. The shampoo and conditioner are lovely and smell salon-fresh. They both have a very fluid consistency so glaze over the hair effortlessly and instantly smooth the hair out. After towel drying my hair I liberally sprayed the Heat Protection Shine Spray all over, concentrating on those vulnerable ends. This spray coats the hair with a barrier that shields it from heat damage as well as giving it a gorgeous shine.

After using the Keratin Smooth products I noticed instantly how easy and manageable my hair was to style. It took considerably less time to straight my hair, and everything just felt a lot smoother, sleeker, softer. Almost too much so! The products totally eliminate all frizz, meaning my hair felt about a quarter of its normal volume and lay completely flat. However, thankfully, you won’t lose your natural curl or wave so I can still use these products and leave my hair to dry curly, which is the style I prefer anyway. But what I did notice is that my curls were more individually defined, decidedly more glossy and with no frizzy ends.

The standout product for me from this new range is the hair masque, without a doubt. Whether you use it as a quick treatment or a weekly indulgence, it will calm and nourish your hair like a dream and leave it can’t-stop-touching-it soft! It feels like such a treat for your hair and thankfully it is gentle enough to use on coloured hair as well. For around a fiver each, these particular products totally embody TRESemme’s ethos of professional yet affordable haircare, and I shall definitely be stocking up on this range.
Will you be turning to TRESemme to tame your unruly hair?

nb: I don’t drive a Honda. I drive a mini but I hear Hondas are very dependable cars!

Is it just me? Does anyone else absolutely hate this shampoo?
Maybe this product will work for those who have naturally straight, non-frizzy hair despite the claims on the packaging, however I suggest anyone with even a slight natural wave to steer clear of this shampoo unless you want to resemble Hermione Granger circa Chamber of secrets at best.
