Emjoi Lady Roto Shave* £49.95
– available from selected Boots stores and online

First off I must just say wow, this piece of gadgetry is incredible and gives me the closest, smoothest shave I have ever experienced. Not really one for fancy technology, I have always happily opted for basic razors to keep the fuzz at bay but I was excited to give this a whirl. It is the latest innovation in hair removal that promises to give you a quicker, closer shave that effectively leaves your skin silky smooth without fuss or effort.

The battery-operated Lady Roto Shave has nine rotating blades that uniquely spin 360 degrees at an impressive 30 times per second. Making contact with the skin a crazy 270 times every second guarantees a wonderfully close, clean shave and beautifully smooth skin. It is completely water resistant with an ergonomically designed, rubber grip handle making it perfect to use in the bath or shower and easy to clean. The blades are encased in spiral protection bindings in a bid to minimise the risk of nicks, cuts and irritation.

Batteries inserted, skin test done, I was ready to get rotating. At first I was a bit hesitant – the angry whirl of the blades can be a bit daunting but I pressed on and applied a thin layer of shaving foam to my legs. The beauty of this razor is that you don’t just have to shave up and down but can glide it over your skin in any which direction you like. The sensation is quite odd to begin with but you slowly get use to it and you start to sense how much pressure you can apply to get the closest shave. For particularly stubborn areas you can move the Roto Shave in circular motions on the skin to ensure all hair is removed, much like an electric razor men would use for their beards. It is particularly handy when faced with tricky areas such as under your arms as you can angle the razor and shave in different directions. My skin felt extremely smooth afterwards and I suffered no irritations or cuts. I’m not saying it is impossible to nick yourself when using the Rota Shave but it seems like it would be quite hard with this device due to its protection barrier and easy use. Also, due to the closeness of the shave, I felt I had a few extra days fuzz-free before I had to shave again!

So glad you've reviewed this, I saw it advertised on tv and was really intrigued. It sounds really good! But I'd probably buy this for the extra fuzz free days, always a bonus! xx

I think for me personally it would all depend on how much the replacement blades were. I would invest in a
Good quality razor though as I always find i tend to cut myself when shaving so a good razor is paramount for me.

    How bad did it hurt?

Auch – I saw this thing on AndreasChoice youtube channel. Does it hurt? I don't even pluck my eyebrows because it hurts to much, so I don't think I can use this without burst into tears.

I few people have asked if it hurts. It does not hurt one bit. It isn't like an epilator, it is just a very swish razor so it doesnt pull the hairs or anything. x
