L’Oreal Paris False Lash Telescopic mascara* £10.99
L’Oreal has launched three new eye products, a mascara, a felt-tip eyeliner and a gel eyeliner, with Cheryl Cole fronting the new campaign. The promotional images see Miss Cole flashing her lashes without any retouching or lash inserts which is highly refreshing and made me keen to try the mascara out.
I’m not usually a fan of the plastic spiky bristle type brushes but this new innovative brush from L’Oreal promises to give you that ‘false lash effect’ with just one stroke, whilst separating and leaving your lashes clump free. Oh wait, and there’s more. The new lengthening fibre formula features 1.2mm micro fibres which apparently links and binds each eyelash to build length and volume beyond the lash tip, making them appear elongated.
There was quite a few things I liked about this mascara, mainly the fact that it definitely does lengthen and separate the lashes. It wasn’t clumpy at all and was really pigmented, so gave my eyelashes a lovely rich, black coating. I actually got on very well with the brush and liked the way the individual bristles made it easy to separate and fan out my lashes. The negative with this mascara is that it made my eyelashes very ‘spiky’ looking, and as the bristles grab your lashes, they pull out any curl you may have, natural or otherwise. This made them stick out awkwardly rather than flutter prettily upwards.
I feel torn – the length and volume you achieve with this mascara is great, and I was actually asked if I was wearing false lashes whilst sporting it the other day, but I am not sure I can forego my curled, fluttery lashes for anything.
Have you tried anything from the new L’Oreal range?
