to infinity and beyond!

Beam me up Scotty, check out these galactic gems!

I shall be honest, this is a very tricky nail varnish to work with…it took 3 coats to achieve the effectiveness you see above, and it is very easy to become disheartened after 2 very streaky applications. You don’t start to see the holographic mirage until the polish dries so be patient and your perseverance will prevail.

GOSH – Holographic no.549.

I picked this up from Superdrug probably about 6 months ago, but this was the first time I embarked on my space-age mission. I really love the effect, I wore it out last night with a very simple black tunic (outfit post to follow shortly) and it just added a bit of fun and frivolity to the look.
I am however dreading the removal of this nail polish…

Have you tried this nail polish? What are your thoughts?

I love this, but don't think I'm quite brave enough to wear it out with my wardrobe of neutrals..!

  2. 2nd January 2011 / 11:18 am

It is lovely on, but a nightmare to apply. I have worn mine twice. May invest in some other holographic polish

Removal is super easy, it slides off!No scrubbing needed

Ha we were just discussing this last night…I love this and have this polish but agree, it's not the best or easiest to apply! Next time I apply it, I might put on a coat first of a grey or plain block of silver and then a couple of coats of this on top to hopefully help the look of it! I think you did well though huni πŸ™‚

    I love this!!
I know what you mean about the removal though lol.
It took me about 10 minutes to remove all my glitter nail polish last night. So frustrating:(

I've had to stop applying polishes such as these to my nails as I just get distracted by them when I'm supposed to be working!! It is a beauty though πŸ™‚ x

  9. 2nd January 2011 / 11:37 am

Wow that nail varnish looks amazing. So good in fact that i'm gonna get some for myself! x

  10. 2nd January 2011 / 11:53 am

I have this too, and I love the multi-coloured effect it gives! But I think it goes dull and chipped after the first day πŸ™ maybe I got a dodgy one who knows lol but it's so funky and unusual I love it xx

  11. 2nd January 2011 / 11:53 am

I said it before and I am going to say it again… WOW! need.to.buy.some! πŸ™‚

I love Holographic, it comes off fine but the thing I hate is you work to get the effect like in your pics and it just seems to rub off after a couple of hours! I did a post about it last year sometime, it puts me off wearing it because it just doesn't stay the same as it does when applied xx

  20. 2nd January 2011 / 1:51 pm

    Wooooah!
    That colour is crazily pretty!

  21. 2nd January 2011 / 1:55 pm

Ohh I wanted this ages ago but can't ever find it in my local superdrug! I read a blog called "the lacquer files" that talk about a german (or Dutch can't remember) company called NFU that make holographic polishes, worth a look to see if theyre any better maybe? Yours look ace though xxx

  22. 2nd January 2011 / 2:05 pm

These look amazing, although the idea of struggling to apply it does put me off

    xo

  23. 2nd January 2011 / 2:16 pm

Oh my gosh I love this! Looks so pretty on your nails. Such a shame its so hard to apply! Maybe you could layer it over other polishes for a subtle galactic look πŸ˜‰ Hope you won't have any problems with removing, can be soo frustrating!

    Aysh xoxo

OMG!! What an amazoing effect!. I have to have it. Thanks for shearing, love Sia x

  25. 2nd January 2011 / 3:12 pm

Wow, it looks great! I normally end up with 3+ coats to get it non-streaky, it's annoying but at least it dries quick πŸ™‚
Removal is really easy with this polish, it just slides off with remover

  26. 2nd January 2011 / 3:13 pm

It looks fab Milly! I've been wanting to try this for a while as well as GOSH Rainbow but I too dread removing them! xx

  27. 2nd January 2011 / 3:50 pm

Love the shiny disco nail polish!

  28. 2nd January 2011 / 5:12 pm

Oooh I have this though it always frustrates me as it chips so easily! Though it looks amazing – and honestly it isn't hard to remove at all πŸ˜€ xx

  29. 2nd January 2011 / 5:53 pm

Ah this has got to be the coolest nail polish i have seen! Super pretty i will def. need to get some and try it!

  30. 2nd January 2011 / 5:59 pm

I never got my hands on this – Am I right in saying they no longer sell it?
China Glaze's OMG is almost the same and by the sounds of it a lot easier to work with!

  31. 2nd January 2011 / 6:02 pm

Wow, so shiny! I'm definately going to pick this up and try it out x

  32. 2nd January 2011 / 7:01 pm

Absolutely gorgeous, there's no denying it, but it's SO hard to photograph. Did you use a flash? Because yours came out really well!

    xoxo

  33. 2nd January 2011 / 7:27 pm

I love Holographic, it's so pretty! I find it takes a good three coats to achieve opacity and the right amount of holo-ness. I just wish it had better staying power. I tried using a top coat but it just dulls the effect which is a shame. I've just ordered a China Glaze holo and I'd like to try the Nfu-oh holos too to see if they're any better. Removal of Holographic is fine by the way – it's not at all like a glitter polish πŸ™‚ xxx

  34. 2nd January 2011 / 7:49 pm

wow that's actually amazing! i MUST remember to get some next time i'm out.

  35. 2nd January 2011 / 7:52 pm

I need this in my life!
If they haven't already they should bring out a gold version I would be all over that xoxo

  36. 2nd January 2011 / 8:05 pm

I love it when it's on but I absolutely hate applying it and find it doesn't last very long anyway! Not sure if it's the top coat I use but it tends to peel off in one piece! xoxo

  37. 3rd January 2011 / 2:03 pm

I love the effect of this.
When I wore mine I couldnt stop looking at it. however, it wears off your nails super easy. Apparently GOSH say its a "party" nail varnish and only intended for one nights use, but the lasting power will be better if you buy their special top coat.
Just thought I'd let you know. : )
    great blog!

  38. 3rd January 2011 / 4:58 pm

Very Nice! I may have to look out for this one…I recently bought Models Own in Gold and I love it!

  39. 3rd January 2011 / 5:22 pm

I've heard about this polish and wow what a statement! I love it. Think it looks awesome on you. I'll have to get some! x

  40. 3rd January 2011 / 7:52 pm

Such cute and fab nails girl!!

  41. 4th January 2011 / 1:19 pm

I thought they were stick on patterns when i first saw them!

Glitter nail varnish is a b*tch to remove, it even stained my nails yellowy, and i used base coat πŸ™

Wow. That is gorgeous. I actually thought those were nail stickers. The ones you stick on then file off? I need it.

Your hair is amazing. My mum was sitting beside me and she said she likes your hairstyle! Love the fringing on the dress. Aw. I'm so late on this post.

  44. 7th January 2011 / 11:33 pm

Thankyou for following me πŸ™‚ it's very much appriciated. I thought the picture above the varnish were the nail stickers, very impressed even if it is hard to apply.
