Jo Malone London has been supporting homelessness charity projects for many years now, mainly through the creation and cultivation of several gardens in and around London. Four in ten rough sleepers suffer from mental ill health which is why Jo Malone has teamed up with St Mungo’s (One of the UK’s leading homelessness charities) to create The Quiet Garden in Notting Hill.
The Quiet Garden offers a safe haven to homeless people. It represents an area where they can reconnect with the community, grow, learn new skills and feel rested and tranquil within the green surroundings. This initiative is part of the Putting Down Roots project which allows homeless individuals to gain experience as trainee gardeners which ultimately will help them get back into employment. It is both a garden to enjoy and to benefit from and there will be people on hand to support and tackle their mental health issues. I know myself how much I benefit from stepping outside and enjoying my little space – going round and watering my geraniums with Florence and just spending some time in the fresh air with only the bird noises as distraction. Therefore I cannot think of a more amazing way to support those without a place to call home and am so pleased to share Jo Malone’s new Charity Candle with you, the sales of which will go directly to their charity partners.
The beautiful Iris & Lady Moore Charity Home Candle embodies everything that is floral and lush in an English country garden. Powdery Iris is paired with the freshness of geranium with an underlying scent of green, dewy grass. It is a gorgeous candle with such a good cause behind it and literally brings the outdoors, indoors!
