If there was ever a collection that made me want to do the hoola and don a fruit hat as soon as it arrived, then this is it! The Summer Collection from MAC – Fruity Juicy – is a colourful explosion of bright shades, fun fruity packaging and gorgeous (and very collectable) limited edition products that I know will be snapped up straight away.
As I opened this package I could almost hear Club Tropicana playing in the background and I was just waiting for someone to pass me a Pina Colada. Fruity Juicy is going bold with colours and textures and giving our makeup a little vacation away from all those neural, muted and nudes tones. Firstly the packaging is just amazing – sleek black with bold fruit and flower patterns in the foreground. Bright bananas, papayas, palm leaves and hibiscus flowers give this collection such a fun image and I personally love this retro design and carribean-holiday vibe.
The Fruity Juicy collection is made up of a selection of lip, face and eye products along with some new brushes and a makeup bag. There are a four lipsticks in this collection – three new ones and Shy Girl which is in their permanent line. Four brand new Cremesheen Glass lip glosses join the party as well as three limited edition 6x eyeshadow palettes. There are also a couple of repromote items included as well such as the lustre drops and the bronzing powders.I have been getting colourful myself and testing out a few bits from the Fruity Juicy collection. Above we have Calm Heat lipstick (granted a very toned down nude for such a carnival of colours collection) and La Salsa Cremesheen Glass. The Eyeshadow Palette is Fruit A La La and contains six stunning shades in a range of satin, matte and frost finishes. If you are after a mid-tone nude then Calm Heat is a perfect option but personally I would say check out the other new additions for something a bit brighter and more fun for Summer. Cremesheen Glass lip glosses are really lovely if you like the shine of a gloss but not the stickiness. The colour payoff is really strong but it doesn’t feel gloopy on your lips. LA Salsa is a pretty soft purple. The eyeshadow palettes are really nice – I love the mix of shades and finishes and they really make you become a little bit more adventurous with your makeup and add a bit of wow to your everyday look. Undoubtedly these palettes will be fabulous for the festival season!
Get ready to shake your coconuts as this collection launches in the UK on 27th April!
