You know Summer is just around the corner when Clarins’ yearly super-sized bronzer arrives and the whole collection radiants sunny hues, botanical palm tree prints and bright glossy colours. This year the Summer Collection from Clarins, Sunkissed, offers us a warm bronzed colour palette mirroring the blazing sun and contains a Bronzing & Blush Compact, a 4-colour Eyeshadow Palette and two waterproof eye pencils in gorgeous copper and gold shades. These are amazing at adding a stroke of metallic warmth to your eyes but are more subtle and sultry than a black or dark brown. I don’t tend to wear eyeliner as I don’t like that harsh look so these are just perfect for me.
Firstly the packaging for this new collection is stunning – Clarins are bang on trend with their leafy, palm prints which adorn the eyeshadow and bronzer palettes. The Bronzing & Blush Compact contains 3 matte bronze shades and an iridescent coral blush which complement each other perfectly. You can use the bronzing powders separately to contour or all swirled together to warm up and add luminosity to the skin. I love the fact that the bronzing powders don’t contain any sparkle or shimmer yet still manage to add radiance and light to your complexion. The coral blush is a nice addition to this jumbo palette and is great for popping on your cheeks for instant oomph!
The 4-colour Eyeshadow Palette is inspired by the colours of a sunset, featuring a beige, gold, orange and bronze, and can all be used wet or dry. It is a gorgeous quartet of shades and even though I was a little nervous to see an orange in there, it is really wearable and really helps create a warm, smokey eye. The powders are a mixture of matte, satin and pearl finishes and give quite a soft look when applied dry, but deliver a more striking, intense finish if you use them wet.
Launching alongside this collection are four (yes four!) new Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils which is so exciting. I simply love these lip oils – they are amazing. They manage to comfort and nourish the lips and deliver a slick of colour without feeling oily or greasy to wear. I don’t love lip glosses for this very reason but these are an exception. They have a melting formula that coats the lips and feels so sumptuous whilst nourishing the skin with a blend of hazelnut, mira belle and jojoba oils. These new four lip oils add a real tropical twist to the current range with shades of Candy Pink, Tangerine, Mint and Honey Glam (with shimmering gold flecks). Watch out for the tingle when you use the Mint oil as it contains menthol to give your lips a subtle plump.
The Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils are out now but the rest of the collection is due to launch next week, so not long to wait until you can get your paws on that giant bronzer!
