Mum and baby shopping at Matalan

One thing I seem to be doing more than most at the moment is buying new clothes for Florence. My goodness, I think this girl has more outfits than I do! It isn’t through extravagance though, but purely due to the fact that she is just growing up so quickly. Whether it is down to a growth spurt or a blueberry stain on a white top that I just can’t get rid of, there always seems to be a reason to pop out and add some new bits to her increasing wardrobe. Recently I needed to get Florence some new everyday pieces to crawl around the house in and I too was in desperate need for some warmer bits now the days are ever so chilly when you step out of bed. So off we headed to Matalan with Florence assuming her usual position, strapped to the front of me in her baby carrier. I love our local Matalan as it literally has everything you would need under one roof – baby and toddler clothes, nightwear, swimwear, ladies shoes and clothes, comfy pjs, sportswear, not to mention an enticing selection of homeware. And you know I love a new cushion or candle! It is ideal for mums who want to pick up a few bits for you and baby but don’t want the stress of traipsing around numerous shops with a little one in tow.

For Florence there was a lot of choice and I did have to restrain myself a bit. I was surprised to see so much swimwear as I had previously struggled to get Florence a new swimsuit when we started our new term at swimming so I now know where I will  be heading when she outgrows her current one. All the baby girl stuff was really sweet and I was so happy when I saw this pair of embroidered dungarees in her size! My mum use to pop me in dungarees when I was little so it seemed rather fitting to kit Florrie out in a similar pair.

As for me, well obviously I have to pick up this denim pinafore dress because twinning is winning in my books! Matalan had lots of cosy knits at the moment so I took the chance to add this lovely, frilly shoulder jumper and cream roll neck to my wardrobe. Their shoe selection gave me a good chance to replace my worn out shoes with these smart chelsea boots. So comfortable which is a must with all the walking Florence and I get up to during the day.

The best thing about our visit was the fact there was still pennies in the purse to pick up a much needed coffee on the way home to help contend with those sleepless nights!

In this post I am wearing:

Denim pinafore | Ribbed polo neck | Chelsea boots |Frill shoulder jumper | Pyjama bottoms | Pyjama top | I’m Not a Morning Person travel cup

Florence is wearing:

Embroidered dungarees | Spotty top | Gingham dress and leggings set

I never ever remember to go to Matalan, even though they usually always have some lovely interior and baby bits in! I love the little gingham dress and legging set, you both look the cutest!
