The L’Absolu Rouge lipsticks from Lancôme have become a bit of a cult product from the brand – almost as loved and iconic as their recent Juicy Shakers…and before that, those gorgeously glossy Juicy Tubes! Lancôme do lips well and last month the brand relaunched their classic L’Absolu Rouge lipsticks, reinvented and with a luxurious new makeover, created by makeup goddess herself, Lisa Eldridge.
The new lipsticks have had a fresh look featuring the sleekest lipstick packaging I have had the pleasure to ‘click’ for sometime! Simply click down the golden rose on top to release the lid and unveil the beautiful colour inside. This new collection boasts 36 shades in three different formulas – sheer, cream and matte. Every colour you could wish for features in this range and the formulas are all hydrating and creamy to apply. Pretty nudes, intense reds and party-prefect pinks are all here. The two lipsticks I have been testing are 368. Rose Lancôme, an intense cream formula that delivers a show stopping bright fuchsia pink, and 202. Nuit & Jour which has been my go-to lip colour for the past few weeks – a beautiful, sheer peachy nude.
As you can imagine, everything from the weighty packaging to the luxurious-feeling consistency (not to mention that brand-embossed bullet), these lipsticks are rather special. I think the colour intensity and staying power is really very good and I challenge you not to become obsessed with clicking that lid on and off again!
