So as I was cruising the new MAC Archie’s Girls collection in Selfridges at the weekend, it was only inevitable that one of the limited edition lipsticks would slip into my bag – and so I walked away with Girl Next Door, part of the Betty collection. I was toying between this pale pink number and Betty Bright, a gorgeous bright peachy-coral, but I figured this one was closest to a shade I don’t already own!
Described as a vivid blue pink, Girl Next Door is a very pretty, yet very pale pink shade with a white shimmer. Being a lustre finish, it makes the colour payoff sheerer and more wearable than say a satin or cremesheen, yet it still won’t be a lipstick that suits everybody. I am not even convinced with the colour myself but I like the soft, glossy finish and the fact you could layer it over a brighter lipstick to mute the colour down. And, well, the packaging is pretty cute too!
Did you indulge in anything from the new collection today?
