Benefit They’re Real! mascara*
£18.50, available online

I had high hopes for this mascara from Benefit Cosmetics, and for good reason. It is currently the UK’s number one selling mascara and has been getting rave reviews left, right and centre. They’re Real! promises to lengthen, curl, volumise, lift and separate with a long-wearing formula that won’t dry out or smudge. The comb-like bristles definitely separate and lengthen your lashes brilliantly, and I like the fanned-out bristle section at the end of the wand which really grabs those tricky to get lashes on the outer corners. Yes this mascara is pricey but with that you are guaranteed no flakes or smudges. Once on, it really does stay put with a blacker than black pigmentation – which leads me onto one of its downsides. It is quite a pain to remove and definitely requires a long soaking with my Bioderma to ensure every scrap is removed.

The best thing about this mascara is the skyscraper length it gives my lashes, especially after a second application, but there is one thing that would make me hesitant to repurchase it. For me, I was disappointed with the lack of curl it gave my lashes and felt that it left them a little too straight and dare I say, spiky? However, give me the curl and lift I love and this mascara would be an absolute winner for me.

Have you tried They Real! mascara before?

I actually wanted to buy it, but now I don't think I will. I have naturally very long eyelashes, so in mascara I am looking for volume and curl. This will not do. X

I've wanted to try this but don't know if I'd like it, because plastic wands aren't my favourite – it does make your lashes look nice though! x

I've purchased this way back in August but I haven't tried it yet because I'm still trying to finish up all my mascaras before I open another one but your review made me want to try it ASAP.The result on your lashes is AMAZING 😉

I really liked this mascara but I agree for some reason it did make my lashes look a bit spikey and my sister, who just purchased this mascara also said its a pain to remove.

Ive been toying with buying this mascara, some people seem to really love it and some really hate it, so I dont know if im brave enough to buy a mascara I could potentially hate, but that said im still very drawn to it and love what its done to your lashes x x

I got this mascara for Christmas and I really like it, it stays put all day. The only thing I don't like about it is that it looks a little clumpy on my lashes xx

I think it's the wand that puts me off this one but I have heard really good reviews on it!

Isn't this stuff amazing?! I do one coat of this and one of Clinique's High Impact.

I have this and wanted to love it but it doesn't do anything for me bizarrely and you know I've got long lashes. Clinique's High Impact Volume Mascara kicks this one to the kerb. I appreciate it works wonders for others, I just won't be buying it again (and £18.50 is overpriced IMO)

I've got this and was disappointed! It's a good mascara but really not great, which is what I was expecting! I've used it maybe 3 times then went make to my trusty Loreal million volume lashes… Great blog! I just started one katfishlady.blogspot
