Flashing My Lashes

I very rarely flirt with false lashes. Day to day I can not be concerned enough to mess around with fangled lashes and whenever I get glammed up for an evening expedition, they always come as an after thought once I’m out and spy some girl with fabulous fluttery lashes.

So throwing caution to the wind, I decided to purchase some lashes for the weekend’s festivities.

Confronted with a plethora of lovely falsies in my local Boots, I punted to these Nicola Eylure ones. No particular reason why…they just looked pretty and were the only Girls Aloud ones left bar Sarah’s which were scarily spiky!

I am not going to belittle you with a “how-to” on applying these false eyelashes as I am sure you all know the drill, but I must confess that I was very impressed with them! The glue wasn’t amazing (note to oneself: purchase duo glue) but they gave me an enhanced yet natural finish to my eye makeup, and I loved the winged effect, which added a feline feel to my lashes.

Are you a lash lover?

What falsies do you use to achieve some fluttery fun?

    Those look lovely on you,
    you always look so pretty!

I bought some super cheap from ebay recently and they're great. Not as good quality as the more expensive ones you see in boots etc, but they do th job!

I do find it an effort to put them on, and make sure they're still on all night!

milly these look lovely. I've often picked up the GA lashes then put them down not knowing how good they'd be.

I had huuuugggeee lashes at the weekend for halloween (pics on blog) a little too big for normal wear (ha) but i thought looked awesome for fancy dress xxx

They look gorgeous. I really like Nicola's lashes but I find that all of the GA lashes are quite stiff and I have difficulty putting them on. They look fab on you though!! What eyeshadow are you wearing? xx

I also rarely wear falsies, I can not be dealing with the hassle but when ever I do where them I have to say Cheryls are my fave. Although looking at Nicola's, I may have to try these next!x

They are really nice ones, i am a bit of a stinge when it comes to buying falsies I just get some that look alright from wilkinsons or B&M, how classy am I – they always work out for me though so why pay more x

They look gorgeous hunny 🙂 Yay to Nicola lashes, they are my fav ones. So full, but more natural at the same time.
I do love fake lashes, I think they just make your face 'pop', but I have such a faff getting them on. The more I think about it before hand, the worse I am when I get there & it's almost even worse when I do one amazingly & the other one cocks up!
I love u & your pretty lashed up face
    xx

  23. 3rd November 2010 / 10:33 pm

You're absolutely gorgeous & the lashes suit you! You look glam but not 'this is essex!!' xx

I've not used any of the girls aloud range of lashes yet. Sarahs and Cheryl's scare me a little! Haha.
    But these look lovely 🙂

I ocassionally use Eyelure glamour 107 or the volume plus ones.

I really like to wear eyelashes when I am dressing up to go somewhere special. I find them very fiddly to put on but am usually very happy I have made the effort. Xxxx

  28. 4th November 2010 / 1:45 pm

yes i love them! only for nights out though or special occasions.. I use the GA ones too, usually kimberly i think, but just bought some cheapo "girls with attitude" ones from poundland, and they do they job just as well!! xx

  29. 4th November 2010 / 3:50 pm

I've only ever worn fake lashes once but I didn't find them too bad. The ones you are wearing look really natural. 🙂

  30. 4th November 2010 / 5:50 pm

I love the Nicola and Kimberley lashes by GA for Eyelure, they're always my go-to for a night out unless I want something mega-glam. xoxo

  31. 5th November 2010 / 11:05 pm

I wasn't too keen on the nicola lashes because it looked a bit too sparse for me… but you should totes try the Sarah ones – they aren't that spiky once you wear them – promise! xx

  32. 6th November 2010 / 8:42 pm

Oooo they look SO good on you!!! x

  33. 7th November 2010 / 11:13 pm

These ones are my favourite too! though I cut them to 3/4 of the original size (starting from the inside corner, obivously).

Also, I made cupcakes following your recipes and method and they came out the fluffiest, lightest and yummiest cupcakes that I have EVER made! I made chocolate ones 🙂
I've put a picture on my blog!

Looks gorgeous. I have never tried false lashes. I would like to but I don't know what occasion would be suitable…

Everybody knows I have 2mm long eyelashes. It's ridiculous. My brother has longer eyelashes than me. A thin layer of mascara is extremely noticable so I presume I'd look ridiculous with falsies.
